Meet the Family Behind ChezFarms
Our family moved to Thailand with a vision of building something lasting — a place where land, family, and purpose come together in a way that future generations can understand and continue.
For most of my life, I worked in youth services, County of Los Angeles California, spending more than thirty years working with young people and families. That experience taught me something powerful: the environments we grow up in shape who we become. Discipline, responsibility, resilience, and curiosity don’t appear by accident — they grow in the right conditions.
Just like a healthy tree.
Over time, that realization began to shape a deeper question for our family:
With the on going National Crisis I made a choice to abandon California to build an environment where our children could grow surrounded by nature, purpose, and meaningful work?
That question eventually led us to Thailand.
The mountains, the climate, the fertile soil, and the culture of agriculture created the perfect place to begin building something we had long imagined — a regenerative family farm that could produce food, knowledge, and opportunity for decades to come.
But ChezFarms was never meant to be just a farm.
It is a long-term family project.
A place where our daughters can learn how ecosystems work, how food is grown, and how thoughtful stewardship of the land can support both people and nature. We want them to grow up understanding that real wealth is not just money — it is healthy soil, clean water, strong communities, and the ability to provide for others.
Our approach to farming is regenerative. That means we focus on building living soil, encouraging biodiversity, and designing systems that improve the land over time rather than exhausting it.
Instead of forcing nature to produce, we try to cooperate with it.
At ChezFarms, fruit trees, herbs, natural oils, and traditional plant knowledge all play a role in building a diverse and resilient ecosystem. Over time these ingredients will become the foundation for natural products made directly from the farm.
But the most important harvest at ChezFarms is not soap, cacao, or fruit.
It’s the experience.
Every season teaches us something new. Every tree planted is part of a longer story. And every step forward brings our daughters closer to understanding that building something meaningful takes patience, care, and imagination.
In many ways, ChezFarms is still just beginning.
Today it is raw land slowly becoming a living ecosystem.
In the years ahead it will become an orchard, a classroom, a gathering place, and hopefully an example of what families can build when they choose to work with nature rather than against it.
For our daughters, ChezFarms will always be home.
For those following our journey, we hope it becomes something else too — a reminder that it’s never too late to plant the first tree of a long and meaningful future.
Welcome to ChezFarms.

Why ChezFarms Exists
In many ways, ChezFarms began with a simple observation.
The modern world has made life incredibly convenient — but it has also quietly separated people from the very systems that sustain them.
Most families today have no idea where their food truly comes from. Soil is treated like an industrial medium rather than a living ecosystem. Farms are often designed for short-term yield instead of long-term health. And children grow up surrounded by technology, yet rarely experience the deeper rhythms of nature that shaped human life for thousands of years.
Over time, we began to ask ourselves a question:
What would it look like to reconnect those pieces again?
ChezFarms exists because we believe something important has been lost — and something meaningful can be rebuilt.
The goal is not to escape the modern world, but to rediscover the wisdom that comes from working closely with living systems. Healthy soil, diverse ecosystems, and thoughtful stewardship of the land have the ability to produce food, medicine, and opportunity for generations when they are respected and carefully managed.
Regenerative farming is our way of participating in that process.
Instead of extracting from the land, we work to build it. Instead of simplifying ecosystems, we encourage diversity. Trees, microbes, insects, birds, and people all become part of the same living system.
The farm becomes more than a place where crops grow.
It becomes an ecosystem.
But the deeper reason ChezFarms exists is even more personal.
It is about family.
We wanted our daughters to grow up seeing how things are actually built — slowly, patiently, and with care. We wanted them to witness the connection between effort and results, between soil and food, between responsibility and freedom.
A tree planted today may not reach its full potential for many years.
But when children grow up watching those trees mature, they learn something powerful about time, patience, and legacy.
ChezFarms is our way of creating that environment.
It is a place where ideas become orchards, where seasons shape the rhythm of life, and where the work of one generation can quietly support the next.
Over the years, the farm will grow.
Fruit trees will mature. Soil will deepen. New products will emerge from the ingredients the land provides. And hopefully the knowledge gained here will help others see what is possible when agriculture is approached with patience, respect, and imagination.
But the purpose of ChezFarms will remain simple.
To care for the land.
To build something meaningful for our family.
And to share the journey with those who believe the future can still be grown — one tree, one season, and one thoughtful decision at a time.
The Future of ChezFarms
ChezFarms is still in its early chapters.
Today it is a piece of land in the mountains of Thailand that is slowly transforming — season by season — into a living ecosystem. Currently, it is March 2026, we believe ChezFarms will plant its first Trees planted October 2026. The soil strengthening will begin in August 2026, and the systems that will support the farm for decades are in place.
But the real vision for ChezFarms stretches far beyond what can be seen today.
Over the coming years, the land will grow into a diverse regenerative orchard filled with tropical fruit trees such as durian, mangosteen, mango, jackfruit, cacao, coconut, and many other plants that thrive in this climate. Instead of large single-crop fields, the farm will be designed more like a living forest — where different species grow together, supporting one another the way ecosystems naturally do.
Healthy soil will remain the foundation of everything.
By focusing on living soil, natural composting systems, beneficial microbes, and thoughtful water management, the goal is to build land that becomes richer and more productive with each passing year.
As the trees mature, they will begin producing the ingredients that will shape the next stage of ChezFarms.
Natural oils, herbs, and plant extracts grown directly on the land will become the foundation for handcrafted products — soaps, balms, oils, and other natural goods created from the farm itself. These products will not simply be manufactured items; they will represent the ecosystem that produced them.
In this way, the farm becomes both the source and the story behind everything it creates.
But the future of ChezFarms is not only about agriculture or products.
It is also about learning.
As the farm grows, it will become a place where children can see how natural systems work — where soil, insects, trees, and animals all play a role in sustaining life. Through simple lessons, hands-on experiences, and storytelling, the goal is to help younger generations understand something that many people have lost sight of: that nature itself is one of the greatest teachers.
Over time, this vision may grow into something we call the ChezFarms Academy — a place where children can explore science, ecology, and stewardship through direct experience with the natural world.
At its heart, however, the future of ChezFarms remains very simple.
It is about building something that lasts.
Fruit trees that will produce for generations. Soil that becomes richer each year. Knowledge that can be passed down from parents to children.
One day, when our daughters walk these same paths as adults, the trees planted today will be towering above them. The land will look different — fuller, greener, and alive in ways that are only possible with time.
And when that day comes, ChezFarms will stand as proof that meaningful things in life are rarely built quickly.
They are planted.
They are cared for.
And they grow.
One season at a time.
